Start the Journey of our Masculinity!

The start. Welcome to The Healthy Man blog. This is an attempt to provide an insight into men’s lives and thoughts. The current situation in the world of men is challenging and sometimes spiteful. This is where I would like to explore our definition of what it is like to be a Man and how to become the best versions of ourselves. Sometimes we are tough on ourselves and sometimes we need that. Pushing us to new situations and growth scenarios and overcoming biases passed down to us from generations of provider ethics.

I am going to quote Robert Kiyosaki, from Rich Dad, Poor Dad –

Most people want everyone else in the world to change but themselves. Let me tell you, it is easier to change yourself than everyone else. (Kiyosaki, 2011)
— Rich Dad Poor Dad

This is a critical spot in the transition from being a child and being a man. It is the moment that we take charge of ourselves that we begin to grow and aspire to our greatness. It is where boundaries are set, where our limits are evaluated, where our desires are honed.  Some may view this as toxic, while others view this necessary, but has no one asked us what we view our rite of passages are like. What they are supposed to do for our inner selves, or even our children.

Critical dissection of the load we NEED to carry as men.

I have both a son and daughter, and I am concerned that the paper route era has left where I learned my first business lessons. Or the sporting events where I learned the first physical boundaries of life. The list can go on and on and be different for each of us. This will be an active site to allow ourselves a place to grow, to relive, to refocus our place in society. The conversation of rites of passage is a spot in my mind often as I think about my kids.

Besides stories of ourselves and sharing content for each other, there will also be products for men that may help you/us along your/our journey. We owe it to ourselves to be the best version of us. Stay tuned for more to come.
